Everything we had was fantastic.Don’t recall all of it but here it goes:Some type of saffron rice – Not phenomenal but quality ingredients and a decent starch side dish.Olive plate – Pickled garlic, large Spanish olives, smaller olives that are covered in a knock out pimento based sauce. Loved it. Sopped that sauce up with a piece of bread.Beef in a red wine sauce – tender, flavorful, cooked perfectlyBread with sardines – Great Spanish tinned sardines, salty, not overly fishy.Bacon wrapped dates – Could eat a millionChorizo stuffed squid – Awesome and not cooked too far which is often a problem with this dishChorizo in a thin wine sauce – Excellent, love this small sausages! Cocktails were mixed beautifully. 5/5 easily, can’t wait to go back.
Let me start what is good about the restaurant. The initial impression and ambiance are very good. Unfortunately, this is the only praise I can give Viva Madrid. I was born in Spain and I can say without any doubt that the food served is not authentic and was badly executed. We ordered six traditional dishes. Not one of these tapas was properly cooked or taste as it should. This is a shame because the inland empire deserves a good Spanish restaurant. My advice is to get a chef that knows the cuisine and is worthy of the restaurant’s atmosphere.
