The Curry Goat at Island Breeze is not a spicy dish, but is well seasoned and worth trying. The only caveat is, that those that butcher goats sold to restaurants, must use a meat cleaver as their only tool. This is not exclusive to Island Breeze. Great tasting dish, but not one to be fed to younger children due to possible bone shards.
Awesome Food and Stellar Service. I had never had Jamaican food before but I was hungry and I wanted anything other than fast food. This place was nearby my first choice but my first choice was closed so I tried something new. I’m glad I did. I had Jamaican Jerk Chicken for dinner and it came with a plate full of other stuff. I ordered the small as I have friends who are Jamaican and I know how large a large serving can be. The food was all good. It wasn’t as spicy as I had anticipated but it was most certainly seasoned. I would say if you think the hot sauces at the fast food places is spicy this is probably beyond your ability to enjoy. For anyone who likes spicy and feel the fast food places serve seasoned ketchup you’ll be pleased. The atmosphere was good but I felt the music was a little too loud. In addition to the music there was a TV with a football game going. I’m not sure who was playing as I don’t follow that but the sound was up on it too. This caused the other patrons of the place to speak very loudly. If you’re sensitive to sound you might find another place. The music was good and pretty mellow so I didn’t mind. At least a couple of the other people at one of the other tables had accents so I didn’t mind hearing them speak either. Service was stellar. i was greeted and felt invited. I had heard from a couple of other people that they had felt the place might be less than friendly to non-ethnic people but I didn’t find that to be true. I felt very welcomed and I enjoyed a delicious meal. With tip my small meal cost around 12 bucks (9 on the menu). Not a cheap meal so if you’re on a fast food budget this probably isn’t the place to try. I don’t drink soda anymore so I had water. I do plan to eat here again and heartily recommend it to anyone who enjoys spicy food or wants to explore something other than a hamburger.
