Found SCG next to an Antique shop. We enjoy the Mushroom onion soup and Ginger Dressing salad! Main dish was Teppanyaki Chicken, Shrimp, and New York Steak. Happy Hour Sushi Rolls started us off. Our Chef Roman was Very Entertaining. Roman said he was an Italian and Mediterranean Trained Chef and took up Teppanyaki cooking to expand his skills. We loved this experience! The Service was excellent!
Sumpsous. OMFG!!!!This place is awesome! My wife wanted some sushi (which really means California Rolls), so we were gonna go to MoMo’s on Rimpau in Corona. Well, turns out they closed down a few weeks earlier. So, out comes the trusted Nexus running Pure Android, and Google to the rescue!I’ve passed this place dozens and dozens of times, but we’ve never eaten here. Everybody was extremely nice and helpful as soon as we entered. We ended up eating at the Teppan tables. The cook was really funny. But the food was freakin’ awesome. He gave us 3 shrimp apiece as a free appetizer. They were probably the best grilled shrimp I’ve ever had.I had the Cajon flavored steak. The wife had the Teriyaki Chicken, but the chef gave her some extra regular Hibachi chicken so she could try both and see which she liked better. All three of these were some of the best we’ve ever had. I think my Cajon steak was the best I’ve ever had. The fried rice was great too. And the vegetable were great. I’ve never had such good tasting grilled pieces of onion and mushroom and carrots.Had a triple Saki sampler for only $10. Excellent. The salad dressing was the ginger based dressing that I find at all Japanese restaurants. But, this was some of the best ever. I could just drink the dressing by itself. If you’ve ever had Mikado dressing from the supermarket (in the cold section), it’s very similar to that.Prices was better than most as well. We stuffed ourselves with two appetizers, the double combo dinners, saki for me, lemonade for her, upcharge for fried rice and green tea ice cream for $65. Not bad. A normal dinner for two at the Teppan could be had for a little over half that. This is our new most favorite Japanese restaurant. lol
Astounding Quality. The quality of the environment and the quality of the food were astounding. I have rarely been this impressed (and I’m picky as hell). It turns out that one of the sushi chefs relocated from Joe’s in Riverside to this place. His skill and energy are certainly unmatched. The guy is a genius and the quality he delivers is unmatched.Though slightly more expensive than Joe’s and more of a drive the improved quality and nicer environment are well worth it. Quieter, calmer, more organized, better parking (an actual paved lot), and plenty of room for plenty of people make this my new favorite sushi place in the IE. Though I’ve only eaten here once the quality was so high that I’ll be hard pressed to return to Joe’s anytime soon. This is the place I’ll be gorging on raw fish from here on out.
