Great alternative to Santa Monica seafood. I read about this place for a month and I finally decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised! The ambiance is that of a local beach cafe with lots of surf pictures on tge walls. Being a beach boy I felt right at home. The fresh fish in the counter looked awesome and they will cook it on the spot for you for an additional fee. The menu is big with plenty of your favorites that you would expect from a seaside fish place. I had the captain’s platter and my buddy g ad tge crab cake burger. He said it was the best crab cake he had ever had. My captain’s platter had battered cod; calamari rings and shrimp with a load of potato wedges and yummy Cole slaw. When it first arrived all I could see were a bunch of fries and a little of the fish. I thought to myself tgat this is typical. Fill you up with cheap fries and scrimp on the fish. But when I peeled back all of tge fries I was pleasantly surprised to see an abundance of calamari and shrimp and two nice size pieces of cod. The batter was nice and crispy and the seafood was perfectly cooked and the serving size was so plentiful I never even touched the fries! Want extra target sauce, cocktail sauce or Pico de Guido? No problem! Head to the condiments bar and get as much as you want for no extra charge, unlike other places who charge for extra condiments. The service was great as well. Overall conclusion, great food gratitude ambiance great service and great value for the money!

AWESOME. This place has the ambience of a takeout BBQ joint and is almost hidden in an Industrial strip mall. In fact I discovered it totally by accident in April 2011 and if I lived near it (I am former SoCal now living in WI) I would eat here 3 or 4 times a month. At Least! I have had meals at Oceanaire and dozens other high end Seafood places, but this little place offers greater value (huge portions)and was more fun (especailly since I wasn’t dining on expense account). I will try and remember how to get there when I’m in SoCal again.
