Great Ramen spot in a food court, but cash only and no takeout.
I like ramen, but…. Santouka’s ramen broth is ridiculously over-salted; I’m not sure if this is how real Japanese ramen joints prepare their ramen, but this is definitely not how Taiwanese ramen joints make theirs! I’ll give kudos for the jubilant noodles, but the broth needs some work.
Absolute best. Two words: TRY IT. I’ve searched all over OC for a good ramen place, and this is it. Santouka Ramen is simply unbeatable. Their supple noodles, delicious & warm broth, tender pork, and yummy sides (bamboo shoots, etc) all make up the perfect bowl of ramen. 5+ stars.
Almost worth the trouble. It is no easy task to fight the crazy traffic and find a parking space at the Mitsuwa Marketplace. Then if you come at lunch the line for Santouka will probably be long and finding a open table in the food court may be a challenge. Despite all that effort, you’ll probably be glad you did after trying the well made ramen from this stand. Big bowl, very rich flavors.It’s probably 3rd or 4th best of all the ramen places nearby, but we are embarrassed by our riches in this area.
