Utterly worthy of the praise it has gotten from so many publications. Come for the prix fixe menu Weds-Sat to enjoy one revelatory dish after another. The chef has such an inspired vision presenting complex flavor profiles. I especially love the upscale takes on the kinds of dishes or ingredients that one usually associates With Mexican food. The service was impeccable. Sit at the counter if you can to witness the came focused professionalism of an obviously happy staff cooking away in a very small kitchen.
Tried Taco Maria with Jeannie Shin for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised. We tried the yellowtail appetizer, carnitas tacos, and Mole chicken tacos. The carnitas were my favorite of the entire meal! The meat melts in your mouth and everything else in it pairs so well together. The yellowtail dish was beautifully plated & the shredded chicken in the chicken taco was tender, but nothing particularly stood out from these two dishes. I’d definitely come back for the carnitas tacos! PS prices are a bit steep ($15-17 for two tacos) but the ingredients are fresh and taste top notch
They are now open for brunch on Sunday and serve a three meal with sides.
