This place was awesome! Excellent service, great steak and wine pairing, wonderful atmosphere, friendly and fast staff. The room was a little too dimly lit for my taste. I loved my expresso cake! Loved the lobster macaroni and cheese! Would highly recommend!
Amazing Meal. Tried Capital Grille for the first time based on the positive reviews. Couldn’t possibly live up to a 90% rating I thought. I was proven wrong. Capital Grille is a real competitor for best of O.C. fine dining. From the solid menu offerings, large portions (the steaks are huge), tasty preparation and thoughtful service, this place is a winner. As competitive as the high end market is it’s really the small touches and great service that made the difference for us. As a small example, the server not only offering valet parking validation but also calling downstairs to ensure the car was waiting for us upon departure are the little touches I appreciate at an establishment like Capital. Great food, wine list, a memorable night out. We’ll be back really soon. Well done.
A true gem of a restaurant!. We went last night, celebrating my mother’s and my husband’s birthday (same day!).Top flight service and food – we were very impressed. The ambiance and decor was delightful. The table had birthday confetti scattered about – very festive – and a lovely card with birthday wishes! Lovely touch. We started with the Wagyu Beef Carpaccio appetizer – melt in your mouth tender. The arugula garnish was lightly seasoned with a lemon vinaigrette and a hint of nut oil, possible walnut. For second course, my husband and I had the special, Lobster Bisque with a drizzle of Dry Sack Sherry and my mom had their mixed greens salad with gorgonzola. The bisque was to die for! I highly recommend it when it’s available. For the main course, my husband had the terrific Porcini Rubbed Delmonico w/12 yr old Balsamic drizzle. My mom had the sliced Filet Mignon with Cipollini Onions and Wild Mushrooms and I had the Dry Aged Steak au Poive with a Courvoisie Cream Sauce! All our steaks were cooked perfectly to order and delicious. We added side dishes of asparagus with hollandaise and french green beans. To all this, we added a bottle of David Bruce wine. At the very end, a sweet treat for the birthday girl too!Our server Shawn was very knowledgeable about the menu and wines. He made us feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the dinning experience. We were there 2+ hours – it didn’t seem that long, but that’s what a properly paced dinner is supposed to do! Cheers!
Great, solid dishes. Came here for lunch Sunday for a party of 5. Food was good – burger, ribeye sandwich and the lobster and crab burger were all very good. The cheeseburger I had was great — bun was nicely toasted, soft, and flavorful. The meat as well was very well done and cooked. It worked very nicely with the tomato, lettuce, onions, and pickles that came along. The truffle fries were some of the best fries I’ve had. Perfectly fried and crisp. Service was very attentive, drinks refilled regularly, and dishes brought and taken away in a timely manner. When the chef knew our main dishes would be slightly (very slightly) delayed, he sent over a shrimp appetizer for us. The calamari that we had as a starter was not sloppily put in the middle of the table. Rather, it was nicely divided evenly among the five diners. Would come back again when I’m in the area. A job well done, Capital Grille!
Wonderful!. Take a strained family, on a strained day like Fathers Day to a new resturant? I’m not sure what I was thinking but this place turned out wonderful-each meal was fantastic, the service was top notch. Great Ambiance!Everyone enjoyed and even had dessert. We will be returning soon!
One of the best brunches around! The beef tenderloin was so tender and delicious! and the mash potato was devine! Yes, brunch…..
