Great place to grab some waffle themed food.Iron Press is yet another restaurant I easily by passed when visiting the Anaheim Packing District as I thought it only served beers. Luckily, I caught a quick glimpse of the menu on the counter of the bar and I was sold for food that night.I ordered the BBQ bacon burger which was decent but the dish that truly won me over was the Bird in a hand which consisted of fried chicken chunks with spicy slaw and mashed potatoes in a waffle cone. The fried chicken had an awesome flavor and the jalapeno syrup that’s given with the meal gives the chicken a sweet flavor with a hint of jalapeno without the spiciness. The spicy slaw managed to provide the heat which is great.I’m looking forward to exploring the menu here a bit more for both breakfast and dinner.Visit date 7/10/2015

Go for the beer. Was not impressed with the food. My Chicken+ Pepper Jack waffle is a great concept–reality: slightly defrosted Eggo waffle (still cold) and romaine lettuce instead of arugula as stated on the menu. Eh. Hubby had fried chicken waffle. While he liked the chicken, had the same problem with the waffle. Waffle fries were delicious. Saw lots of people coming to get beer but had food from other vendors…maybe they are onto something.

I Love Beer and Waffles!. That’s their motto and they hope to make it yours as well. This new place takes the Belgian waffle craze started by Bruxie and adds the missing ingredients of beer on tap. Not just any beer but a selection of 30 beers on tap that have been carefully selected to showcase some of the best craft beer around (and PBR for the Bipsters). Most of the taps feature SoCal and especially OC breweries. The waffles are good, perhaps a notch down from Bruxie. I think they use just one waffle mix for both savory and sweet waffles. It serves the sweet ones well but seems a little lacking for the savory ones. The waffle fries and tater tots with the garlic and parmesan toss are flat out addicting. Most of the seating is bar seating with a few tables tucked in in this oddly shaped space. But hey, there is seating and it’s not in the sun and your aren’t standing in line. All pluses over Bruxie.I also love the simple pricing here. All the beer besides PBR is $6. All the sandwiches are $8. Other items are grouped into simple price categories too. The guys running this place are passionate and committed to the business. A few hiccups in service were easy to overlook because it is clear they have the right customer friendly attitude.
