Wolfgang Puck is a famous name in food industry . on my first visit to the south coast plaza mall having come face to face with the establishment , I had to eat here just to ensure I dint miss out on anything….going through the menu I ordered for the barbeque chicken pizza.Ingredients are extremely measured and the pizza has a slight sweetish tinge to it thanks to the BBQ flavoring. Onion , cilantro , shredded chicken , BBQ sauce , cheese on a freshly rolled pizza base…For 12$ a pizza it was pretty decent and is a good option for a takeaway thegastronomix.net
Good Food, but a bit pricey. I came here for lunch with a friend of mine. We had a coupon to use and looked forward to spending it.Since it was such a nice day out, we decided to eat outside. The patio area was sufficiently covered with umbrellas so when it began to sprinkle outside we stayed dry.Our waiter was very helpful and observant. My friend had brought her own bottle of water to drink and so the waiter was kind enough to bring her a wine glass with ice and lemon for her to use when he brought out my drink order. We asked our waiter if he had any recommendations. He suggested the pumpkin ravioli and the rosemary chicken. My friend decided on the pumpkin ravioli. It came with pine nuts and a butter sauce. The dish only contained 8 or 9 raviolis, which was perfect for a small meal. I decided on ordering a half smoked turkey sandwich (it came with avocado, provolone, lettuce, red onions, and tomato served on sourdough, focaccia, or whole wheat) and a half caesar salad. The meal was very good. The salad dressing on the caesar was creamy. I wished it would have had a bit more anchovy flavor. I would have also liked some fresh cracked pepper, but had to suffice with black pepper from the table’s shaker. We opted to share dessert. We chose the vanilla bean creme brulee. The surface was hard and you definitely had to crack it with your spoon. The garnish was three strawberry slices. They were sweet and fresh. The creme brulee was very creamy but not too sweet. In fact, it was a little on the chilly side. So I’m not sure if they reheated it or if it just cooled quickly. So that was slightly disappointing.I really enjoyed my meal. The wait staff was friendly and very efficient. Our waiter even noticed our coupon on the table and took it with him early on so that he would have our check printed accurately when bringing it to the table. The dishes were overpriced for what it was. If it was any other place I can guarantee that my meal would not have been as pricey as it was. I could have gotten the same meal at Corner Bakery for several dollars less and it would have been just as good.
