This place is a funky place with great food and drinks. The railroad shandy is always a great summertime drink but also the Arnold Palmer and sangria. I love the chicken salad and the skirt steak sandwich but it’s hard to go wrong. It is an order at the counter and seat yourself but there is usually a spot. Highly recommend coming here!

Nice little Hangout!. Sideboard is a great little hang out for a cup of coffee, glass of wine and a bite to eat. This was my second time to eat here. The food is good, fresh and tasty! We had a group of about 10 which could be a little challenging since it is not a very large place. One of the great things is you can eat inside or out. Most tables fit 2or 4 easy. Food is ordered first at the walk up counter and then brought to your table once it is done. Water and silverware are self-serve.Salads, sandwiches and hot food are all well done. One of the dishes we ate was a quesadilla salad. It was a quesadilla with slow roasted pork on a plate with a vinegaret salad on top. It was wonderful! The Brussels sprouts and tater tots are great! Salads excellent and chicken salad on nut bread very good. A number of baked breads and sweets to choose from as well.

I was a bit concerned regarding the service, given others’ comments, but I had no issues. I also can’t figure out all the gripes regarding pricing- it’s not at all out of line, especially considering the quality and location. Hey people, the streets of Danville don’t look like a Mercedes showroom for nothing. The breakfast pudding with asparagus was delicious with a wonderfully silky texture, topped by a crust of browned goat cheese. The cafe latte easily ranks as one of the best I’ve ever had. One problem, there aren’t many tables (maybe 15?) and with people lounging, chatting, and reading long after they’ve finished their coffee/meal, it can be very tough to get a seat (counter order, self-seating).

Family referal. My nephew is a pastry chef here, so we decided to try it next time we were in town. We went for lunch and had a really fabulous time. We ordered a cheeseburger, a steak sandwich, and a pulled porK sandwich. They were all very good. To top it off, we ordered the salted caramel pots de creme. It was incredible. The place was quite busy but it still felt very cozy inside.

A great place for great food anytime of day! Personal favorites are the fruit, yogurt and granola comb, they have the best French fries I’ve ever tasted and I salivate over their maple scones.
