Best BBQ in So Cal. This is the best BBQ I’ve found in So.Cal and I’ve tried quite a few. All the ribs are delicious, the peanut slaw, the mac & cheese , the fries, the buscuits & honey butter & the sweet potatoes are great. It’s always tough to narrow it down to two types of ribs and two sides. I’ve taken friends there and they are now better friends because I’ve shared this place with them. I keep looking for better BBQ places but Lucille’s is always the gold standard I compare them to. Many are good, but so far, Lucille’s is the best!
BBQ at it’s finest!!!. A lot of reviews are saying that the meat is dry. I decided to go see for myself and had a wonderful meal. The Baby Backs fall off the bone. The St Louis ribs are the shiznet. The Tri-Tip sandwich was the most tender Tri-Tip my daughter has eaten. They bring you tons of food. If you are a carnivore then eat here. The sides are so so. The potato salad was kind of bland. They serve biscuits instead of rolls and that was the only drawback for me. Come on… biscuits??? This isn’t breakfast. You can get 1/2 orders on appetizers. We got the spinach / artichoke dip and the fried okra. Yes… I said FRIED OKRA!!!! Yuuummmm!!!!
Nerdboy Approved. Oh man, tri tip and pulled pork and apple butter biscuits these are a few of my favorite things.
Spicy Cheese Grits are comfort food!. Yes, the BBQ is the draw, but the sides hold their own at Lucille’s. Must tries: spicy cheese grits, spicy peanut slaw, and sweet potato fries. The fried catfish tacos and fried green tomatoes are SO good! The peach bread pudding is cloyingly sweet… definitely meant to be shared!
The pork ribs were great. The sweet potato side was as good as a dessert, so sweet. Service, busy, but polite. Easy Freeway access. Now the downers: The music is a little too loud for a restaurant. The Tri-tip was terribly dry. The house Hefe draught was weak. $25 for a combo, way too much for dry beef.
Good Food Bad Service. The food was very good. However the service was very unsatisfactory. I was unable to order a beer because the restaurant refused to accept my Canadian drivers license. Being 23 and from Canada I found this to be very rude.
Too expensive. The quality doesn’t match the price……
