I’ve been a regular diner there since 1990. When I worked nearby, I had lunch there about twice a week. Now I have dinner here about bi-weekly, typically take-out. The same chef, Johnny, has been here the whole time. Consistency abounds. Ann, his wife, handles customer service. No one else works there, so far as I’ve seen. Both employees are friendly and efficient. My favorite dishes: * Hunan Chicken Breast * Szechuan Bean Cake * Moo-Shu Vegetables * Tofu with Asparagus, Spicy (Bring your own asparagus if it’s off-season, and they’ll cook it in, no questions asked.) * Hot & Sour Soup * Potstickers The sauces are amazing. Are they authentic? I don’t know. I just know they make me want to lick the spoon and the plate. I think I’ve literally taken every date and everyone else I’ve known who came to town, including foreign visitors, to this restaurant. I actually did not like the food on my first visit to this restaurant, but it turned out that was simply because I did not care for the taste of the dish that I had ordered. I think it was curry chicken. Some months later I gave the restaurant another try, ordered something different, and the rest is history. They take some credit cards. I know they take VISA and they don’t take AMEX
Love this place!. My family and I have been going here for over 15 years! We absolutely love the food, the atmosphere is comfortable and inviting, the owners are so friendly, and we find ourselves comparing all other Chinese food back to that of Oriental Garden. Overall, this is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area.
