The name of this gastropub as well as Images of their food online is what made me pay this place a visit and I can honestly say the images aren’t misleading because the food is delicious!Stopped in on a Monday for lunch with a friend since I had the day off from work. Grabbed a table and was greeted by the bartender. I wasn’t planning on having any beer that day but being told that happy hour is all day long on a Monday is more than enough to tempt me for a couple of brews LOL.I had my mind made up on a couple of things before walking in but of course made decisions towards more plates once I actually saw the menu. The first round of beers were ordered along with sides for appetizers. I’m a fiend for fried calamari no matter where I go so ordering that was a must and it didn’t fail…lightly battered and served with a delicious Szechuan sauce. The mac and cheese was different from most I’ve had due to the aged cheddar giving a slight bitter/sharp flavor rather than the traditional cheesier taste. This isn’t a bad thing as I’m a fan of sharp cheddar and the mac was just as creamy and delicious as any other. Last of the appetizers were the Tony Tots which has given me a new love for tots. These tots are awesome as their cut into thick squares, has a seasoned crispy outside layer, soft inside, and are topped with a flavorful chipotle mayo. Like the mac and cheese, these tots differ from others I’ve had as their not just fried balls of grated potatoes and I really like The Bottle Room’s take on this. Delicious!!!Round two of beers were ordered as well as two more plates to end the visit. Next up was the Kurobuta pork belly tacos. This is a fine example of pork belly done right. I love pork belly that serves up both the meat and a decent amount of pork belly fat. The pork belly in these tacos aren’t shy of either and it literally melts in your mouth. Last was the Uptown bacon burger which was cool as the BBQ sauce wasn’t overpowering and you can taste the angus beef all throughout. Also, I usually don’t brag about salads but the arugula salad served on the side was delicious! The dressing and cheese played a huge role. This is a cool spot to grab food and the service is great. It was a bit quiet on my visit but then again it was a Monday and I had arrived right at opening for lunch. I do plan on visiting a weekend night.Visit date 7/13/2015

As always, Chef Tony pulls through to make a trip from the city for his Tuesday Night Burgers well worth the fare. This week’s Turkey Burger BLT with Emmenthal cheese and Pulled Short Rib Sandwich with Port BBQ Sauce tomato and shaved onion were somewhat nontraditional showstoppers. So much so, in fact, I didn’t even take the time to gawk at the usual mind-blowing menu. Of course, what would the BR be without their amazing beer and iPod selection? The ladies up front brought it with service that made you feel welcome. Until next time, I’m crossing my fingers for a creative soup menu for the upcoming rainy season…
