This place is the real deal. If you’re not Taiwanese, good luck ordering because you’ll have no clue what’s going on. Try this combo: mustard green noodle soup, green onion pancake, spicy cold cucumbers.
Just plain old good Taiwanese food. My parents don’t love A&J, but we go there pretty often anyway. It’s one of the only stops in Irvine that has real authentic Taiwanese noodles and sides. I think it would benefit if it remodeled with cleaner utility, bowls and cups that aren’t chipped, and actually wooden chopsticks as opposed to the cheap, fast-food kind. Still, try their noodles because it does remind you of noodle stands in Taiwan. The hustle-bustle environment and the extremely quick and responsible service add to the lunch experience.
