Gud!. I like the pizza. I kinda like that they only have 1 pizza of the day. It takes all the guesswork out of it. today I had 2 slices of the mushroom, onion, something, something pizza.It wasn’t as filling as i thought, but real good!I guess I eat more than I expect.Def. goin back,.. maybe i’ll try their coffee.
Beyond pizza. Arizmendi deserves the high praise it gets for its pizza, but as the name suggests, it’s a bakery before it’s a pizza place. The bread–in loaves that are long and narrow or short and squat–is first-rate, right up there with Acme and the rest. Same for the rolls: cheeze rolls, scones, and on and on. Because everything’s baked right there, you can count on its freshness. The Emeryville location, two short blocks north of the busy 40th and San Pablo intersection, is convenient to Berkeley and Oakland. If you’re closer to Lake Merritt, the Lakeshore Ave. Arizamendi’s is just as pleasant and well-stocked, if not more so.
The BEST commie pizza in town. No meat, one choice, no substitutions, extremely fresh, unique flavor profiles and my in my opinion, second to only Zachary’s.
