A great hole in the wall. You get the the entrance by going between the side of a bank and a dumpster, so needless to say I wouldn’t have found this place without a friend’s recommendation. There are a couple tables outside, but the entirety of the indoor seating is a big U shaped bar around the server and cook where everyone sits. It’s pretty eccentric, but we enjoyed the layout a lot. There is complimentary soup and baklava that went well with my delicious chicken shawarma. I’ll be back soon.
Big dinner, little guilt. Wally’s Cafe catered a recent dinner for our group, and it was great. Most of the dishes associated with standard Middle Eastern fare were there: falafel, chicken shawarma, baba ganouj, hummus, pita bread, salad, lots of dark olives. Everything was fantastic–nicely seasoned, not greasy, tasty yet wholesome as can be.The cafe menu is more varied than this, adding dishes like pomegranate chicken for gourmet tastes along with burgers, fries, and onion rings for the less adventurous–a sizable menu for such a small place.
