Absolutely wonderful every single time. I’ve been here so many times and it never gets old. Service is lovely. Portion size is great. I’ve also always loved the presentation. Its basically my comfort food haha
Best Pho House in Town.. We’ve been coming to Pho Saigon Express for over 7 years. I’ve never been disappointed. The lovely owner is wonderful and the staff are attentive to our needs. On my last visit I ordered the Tai Nam Gau (Rare steak, flank & brisket) and Goi Cuon (Shrimp & pork spring roll). Pho was excellent. Key to any pho is the soup base. The key ingredient is star anise which Pho Saigon generally uses. Besides the basics (Bean sprouts, Vietnamese basil & lemon/lime) I personally like to add a extra sides to my pho: Jalapenos, sliced onions, chili oil (I like spicy) & Nuoc beo. You’re probably asking yourself if the pho is great why am I adding extras. You’re logically correct, but I don’t follow the norm. I add extras to my liking to satisfy my palate, but yes. I do eat pho without the extras at times. Our appetizer was equally as delicious as our entree. The Goi Cuon (Shrimp & pork spring roll) was fresh. No ammonia smell like some other places I’ve been to. Every bite was crunchy and not too chewy. A good sign of freshness. The spring roll comes with a peanut sauce. I like adding plain sriracha or sriracha w/chili. If you like spicy this is a must!Overall my visit to Pho Saigon Express was superb…Grade: A

Best Pho in town. I have been to many Pho restaurants. A few in Mira Mesa, in San Marcos, and Temecula. I’ve even tried some outside the city of San Diego. I will always think of Pho saigon as my home. Its not incredibly fancy but very comfortable. They have some soothing music playing, mostly classical when i visit. The service could be a bit more personable but the food always comes out quickly. Ive tried most of the soups and rice dishes all excellent. Me and friends frequent the Saigon often. I’ve yet to see them extremely so i sometimes worry. Losing them would be a great loss to Escondido.
Best Vietnamese Soup in Town. I consider myself a pho soup connoisseur and I’ve been in many Vietnamese restaurants from Pho soup only to the more high up Vietnamese restaurants that serves pho soup, and this place is one of the best. Their pho soup has full body flavor, somewhat a richer taste to the broth, not watery as other places. The meats are tender and the aroma from all the ingredients just makes you want to jump in and start slurping. Service is good, servers are very attentive and thank you for the welcoming owners as well. If you are ever there, consider this to try; egg roll, and the number 1. Add to that a steamed plate of beans sprouts and ask to a sate, if you want your soup to have a little kick. Note: sate is a spice oily add on to your soup, it has lemon grass, red pepper flakes, and or some garlic and peanuts. It will enhance the flavor and aroma of your soup. Try it!.
