Good sushi BUT NOT worth the price you pay for the bill and crappy service. Not a family friendly restaurant.
Sushi Yama. Went to this establishment yesterday with my son. When we entered, there was a weird smell and it was noisy (place was busy but not crowded). We went because we purchased a groupon. The food was not the greatest. When we got home, realized we were overcharged. They billed us for full priced items, when most of the things we ordered should have been 50% off. We had also ordered some hand rolls. On the bottom section by the hand rolls, it said 50% off. When we got the bill I did question the price and was told that it we had ordered the roll instead of a hand roll, it would have been 50% off. It was not clear on the menu. Would not recommend.
I agree with others!!! This use to be the best sushi place and I would go at least once a week!!! But the service is HORRIBLE!!! The male server is hands down the most rude person i have ever encountered in a restaurant!! I tried several times to give it another go and just deal with his attitude, but the last time I went here I was served OLD tuna!!! The color had changed, the odor was gross, and you could taste it was bad. I said something to the guy and he said it was normal!!! WHAT??? He tried to pass it off that it was always that way… I got up and left!!!! Never will go back there!!!
Busy, understandable. But horrible service. 3 tables sat after us got menus, drinks, and orders in while we sat with nothing and no one greted us. After waiting almost 30 min to order a drink and see a menu, no one apologized or offered any discount or any other token of gratuity for us not walking out and talking to the manager. Be prepared with low expectations for service. The food better be amazing (still waiting…).
I used to eat at sushi yama every fifteeneth with my wife. She actually wrote the mobile review by Cherielyn, and she agrees with me since they lost sushi chef Jason the sushi is horrible and not even consistant. We are there now and and every so far is horrible just like the last time we ate her. For starters servers have attitude, second wasabi was bad and sushi taste like it has been sitting out for awhile before serving an we r sitting at the bar. Hands down this place used to be ten out of ten for me but now it only scores a one and that us for the design of the restruant only.
Great sushi, great prices. I just had to try out this new(er) place, and I was not disappointed. The half-price items are a deal – look in your Get 1 Free book for a coupon. I treated my son for his birthday, and it’s hard to leave a sushi place with him for less than $60. I spent less than that and we were very full. The food is innovative and presented attractively. And oh yes, delicious! Service was on the slow side, but they were very busy that evening. Not hard to see why!
