Honest. Ingredients. I stopped in a few afternoons ago after I returned a rental car in the area. I got a couple of Italian sandwiches to go. Both had Italian dry salami and it was the best that I’ve tasted in a long, long time. They don’t try to run smoked salami by you or worse, cooked salami. It was San Francisco Italian dry salami, maybe Columbus. The real stuff. Same with the olive oil. The woman who made the sandwiches was pleasant and gave me a little extra stuff but the bottom line is that if the ingredients are good then the sandwich will be good, Same with pizza.This is Italian food, anyone who puts pineapple on pizza has forfeited the right to give an opinion.
DISAPPOINTING. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. Having read the reviews I was excited to take my sister and nephews to lunch before catching a noon-time movie. We each ordered the lunch special (2 slices + a soda) only to be told by the woman behind the counter she didn’t have enough slices for all 4 of us. I looked behind the counter and saw 2/3 of a cheese pizza waiting to be topped and re-heated. Apparently the missing slices had been sold to the other couple in the restaurant. Finally 3 of us agreed to have 1 slice and a salad so there would be enough to accomodate our group. The salad was satisfactory, although the dressing was extremely skimpy. The pizza, briefly reheated, was topped by several pieces of pepperoni and three small pieces of sliced link sausage. The flavor was unimpressive. After we try a new place we always discuss – would you come back or is once enough? We all agreed it would be our first and last visit. Disappointing; we are big pizza fans and had hoped, by the reviews, we had discovered a gem.
The best NY pizza in Sac!. The best pizza you’ll find in Sac. I’m from NY and am used to great pizza and this is pretty good. Miles ahead of the round Table and native CA places.My favorite pizza is just chese with anchovies. Most of the time, I hope for something spicy so I have him (it is always the husband cooking) add a little bit of Tobasco. Best of all, you can fold the pizza in half, like a taco, and eat it the way it is supposed to be. There is just something to the dough and its flavor that make this pizza amazing.I’ve also had their stomboli on a different visit. It is basically like a calzone. It’s also really yummy! The dough is just amazing.They have sandwiches and other stuff that looks really good too!
So glad to find a worthy slice of New York style cheese pizza in the area!
