The tostada mixta was delicious and fresh with an excellent mix of fish, shrimp, octopus, crab and scallops heaped with sliced red onions marinated with lemon juice along with fresh avocado slices. A perfect Sunday lunch or summer time escape, especially with an ice cold spicy Corona ( hot sauce, chile con limon with a shrimp at the rim) Love this place!!!!
Best seafood in Fresno so far! My friend and I make it a point to go there at least once a week. It looks like one of those hole-in-the-wall places, but believe me, they crank out some incredible, fresh ceviche and aguachiles. This is definitely the place to come for seafood. Never a disappointment!
Pretty Good. I like this place. I had a basic fish taco that goes for two bucks and it was very good. I also had one with mojo de ajo (garlic sauce) and it was very good too. The only downside was the blasting loud mexican music. That was rather annoying but the food was still very good.
Authentic Mexican Seafood. I was in Fresno for a business trip and decided to try El Pescador based on the reviews.I went at about 3 p.m. on a Sunday and the place was quite busy. There was a mariachi band playing. The band was good but LOUD. I was glad I was there by myself as there was no way I’d have been able to have a conversation with anyone. There were two flat screen TVs. One was playing a futbol (soccer) game and the other a football game. The bathroom is around back and requires a key. It wasn’t dirty, but it wasn’t the cleanest restroom either.I was the only gringo there so I figured that was a good sign of authenticity.I ordered a swordfish burrito. It was good, but the swordfish kind tasted and looked like pork. The burrito also had cheese and green peppers inside. I’m not a huge fan of green peppers as the taste/smell tends to permeater through everything. However, the green peppers in the burrito were subtle which I appreciated. The meal was served with chips and salsa. The chips were greasy but addictive. The salsa was served in a bottle. It had a nice kick to it and was flavorful. The soda machine was out of order so I bought a canned diet Pepsi. The food was decent but didn’t agree with my stomach. I’m glad I tried El Pescador, but I don’t think I’ll be back.
Brilliant!. Absolutely THE BEST meal I have had in a long time! We had the Mahi Mahi dinner, it was fresh, delicious and served in a very timely manner. Will definately become a regular here… probably headed back there tomorrow, lol!!
A worthy lunch spot if you’re in the area.
