Real Chinese people? Really?. Real Chinese people Josh? As opposed to what? Fake Chinese people, who happen to be Chinese just born and raised here in the United States? I have news for you. The majority of dishes served in Chinese restaurants here in America aren’t authentic or traditional Chinese dishes. They are Chinese-American creations. No families in China are eating pork fried rice, orange chicken or egg foo young on a regular basis. What a racist and simple minded comment to make. And insulting to the many Chinese-American families who own and operate Chinese restaurants across the country, who work just as hard and prepare meals just as flavorful, to please their customers. I live next to Ewing Elementary and walked to Golden Star twice a week for more than three years to treat myself to lunch. I became very good friends with the older couple who formerly owned the restaurant. The food was so good and the prices were nice. Under the new ownership, the food quality has gone down a smidgen. Though not to such an extent that I’d stop lunching at Golden Star. However, the prices have all gone up and several menu items are no longer available. I’m not willing to remain a loyal customer when fewer options and lesser quality come with a higher price. So, I too have taken my business to another restaurant.
Best chinese food in the central Valley. This place was owned and operated by REAL chinese people from China for the last ten years I’ve lived in Fresno. We found it by accident and we went there solidly once or more per month from the time I was eight until now. There was a recent ownership change but the new staff is just as amazing as before. The food is even better now as well. I seriously recommend the Ginger, Garlic & Orange Beef as well as chicken. Anyone who hasn’t been here doesn’t know what real chinese food is or what it should taste like.
