You have to go to Duke’s Downtown for the ultimate lunchtime sandwich Brought to you by the same owners, Duke’s Downtown Sandwich shop is 1920 Tulare, at the Fulton Mall. The Philly Cheesesteak is amazing! The owner is a classically trained chef so while the menu may only officially have 5 or so sandwiches on it, they are all dynamite. Perfectly balanced, expertly made. Any time I get a hankering for a turkey with swiss on wheat, I go to Dukes. The bread is fresh and the meat is always top notch. I get the turkey sub with lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, mustard, swiss cheese, italian seasoning.The other day they had a bread bowl with clam chowder. I missed that one, but am hoping they bring it back!
