This place is amazing! The food is great, the service is outstanding, and the prices are super cheap for the amount of food they give you! (And the taste of the food is delish too!) I’m always treated with a lot of respect and courtesy which makes me love this place even more. I’ll definitely keep returning and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great restaurant with amazing food, prices, and service! Love it!! 🙂
I love this place, foods good, quiet cozy atmosphere and the prices are reasonable. I dont know why some previous reviews are bashing the service here and even go low enough toMention the names of the workers, which is just low class. I have nothing but good things to say about the service, I’m always greeted with friendly attitudes and a smile when I come to Round up and never have to wait more than 6 min for my order. The food is really good haven’t had one thing I didn’t like. I would highly recommend the French dip or the chicken salad se Of the best I have ever had. So if you are in the area near Hoover stop by this place and enjoy some good home cooking:) Don’t bash it till you’ve tried it.
A sense of history:. I have seen some negative reviews for The Round-Up BBQ. Undoubtedly, some were deserved, but you need some perspective, folks. I have lived in Fresno almost my entire life, and The Round-Up BBQ has always been there (or somewhere) for me. It began downtown in the by then decades-old Fresno Farmer’s Market building, a local food treasure that sadly fell on hard times due to advancing age and the changing nature of Downtown commerce. There were many food purveyors, and communal seating in the courtyards. It was located at the clumsy conjunction of Tulare, Fresno, U and Divisadero Streets. BBQ Beef, Chicken and Pork sandwiches with BBQ beans and salad were the mainstays at The Round-Up BBQ. Across the aisle stood Rossi’s Pizzeria / Italian Kitchen, most famous for their Calzones. When the Farmer’s Market was finally closed and razed in the 80’s, all of those classic recipes were purchased from their originators, and prepared in the exact same manner as the originals at the restaurant known as The Round-Up BBQ / Italian Kitchen. Located on Blackstone, in the shopping center containing Herb Bauer’s Sporting Goods and Yoshino’s, they operated there for many years serving those same items, and their home-made salad dressings. (For a short while, the location operated as The Immigrant Cafe — with an exceptional Hye Burger). Before long, the restaurant was returned to it’s original state, and eventually purchased by the Garcia family. It was thereafter relocated to the current First and Bullard space. If you are nostalgic for those ‘Old Fresno’ flavors, they remain exactly the same. If you haven’t been around here long enough to appreciate the historical aspects, just give them a try and see what you think. I can’t recommend other items on the menu, since I never bothered to go past the ones already noted. Stick to those items, and I’ll bet you won’t be disappointed. They are long-time Fresno favorite tastes for people of a certain range of vintages — I’m 62. The Round-Up ain’t fancy, never was, and doesn’t require much service — just order at the counter, and relax. It’s still priced very reasonably. Don’t show up during school lunch hours — I recommend an early dinner or lazy Saturday lunch. Some of the help’s attitude mentioned by other reviewers is likely due to having an abundance of lunchtime business from local high school students — not always the most polite, appreciative and orderly of customers. We certainly weren’t — back in the days of Fresno High and — Boomer flashback warning — Lesterburger, Me ‘n’ Ed’s or the late, beloved Taco Shack .
Round up bbq has the best bbq in fresno! I love it so much, they have delicious calzones, salads, & italian food!! Sooo delicious! <3 ,if your around you should stop by and tryy the food you wont regret it! The cashiers are so nice & sweet to everybody! The food is freshh & the food is bomb!
Im confused at all these comments for I haven’t had a complaint on this place. The service has been good and in a timely manner. All of the dressings are homemade. The food has been great everytime I have gone there, I consider myself a regular. I always get either the BBQ Beef or pork sandwich or the Calzones. Hopefully more people comment positively because I feel like they’re missing out on good stuff!
Its ok. Its defiantly not the worst BBQ place but not the best.Certain Menu Items are better than others. They have an amazing Calzone and wonderful Chicken Tacos. Price isn’t bad. Its alright.
