Hidden Lunch Spot in Downtown. This is the best Mediterranean restaurant in Downtown Fresno. You’ll have a hard time finding it though – we were told exactly where it was and had a hard time getting in. It’s in an Armenian Community Center and the entrance is through the parking lot in the back of the building.Walking in, we were skeptical about the quality of the restaurant because it basically operates out of a converted community center.However, the food is great. I recommend the Chicken Shwarma plate. The meat is wonderfully moist and tender and the garlic sauce that comes with it is mouth watering. For most items there’s usually a sandwich-only option that runs for around $5, and a plate option that consists of a larger meat portion and added sides for around $10. When we come with a large group the owner will throw us a free portion of hummus and pita bread.
