We dined at El Rocoto last night and our experience was excellent! It was a Tuesday night but we had to wait for about fifteen minutes – I didn’t mind – a crowded restaurant is a good restaurant. I can wait for good things. We ordered Coke and Inka Cola (I like its cough syrupy flavour). While we savoured the complimentary bread rolls with butter and the dips we waited for our orders – Chaufa Especial (Oriental peruvian fried rice with of shrimp, pork, chicken and beef), and Seco Cordero (Braised lamb shank in cilantro sauce with peruvian beans and rice). The orders arrived after a wait of about fifteen minutes – not bad. The fried rice was very good with plenty of meat, and shrimps with a side of sweet and cool radish slices. The braised lamb shank was juicy, soft and literally falling of the bone, with a side of plain rice, white beans and onions freshly pickled with lemon juice. It was exceptional. The portions were big – we had to pack some of the food to take home. The lady serving us was Latin American – she was very polite and accomodating. She even served us a complimentary caramel custard because it took a little longer for our food to arrive.I would highly recommend the place. It is as good as El Pollo Inka if not better. Their kitchen closes at 9:30 PM, so get there early.

Chicha Morada. Amazing26 Jun, 2014Camarones Al Ajo. Muy bien26 Jun, 2014Lomo Saltado. Moto Bene26 Jun, 2014First time here. We were impressed with the upscale ambience and friendly staff. The menu was intriguing. Our server Susana was upbeat and very helpful. We ordered two lunch entrees: Loma Saltado (a stir-fried beef vegetable dish) and Camarone Al Ajo (grilled shrimp w/potato and asparagus), served with two freshly made sauces on the side. These were simply wonderful. Along with a marvelous drink – Chicha Morada (Peruvian purple corn with line/apple/pineapple juice and cinnamon sugar) this was a great experience that totaled just $35 with enough left over for another meal back home.

The Best Peruvian Restaurant. This restaurant is not only the one with the taste, it is also a nice place to take friends and enjoy, and the prices are not high. Love to go and try the Asian Peruvian style, and also the traditional food is excellent.Proud to have a decent Peruvian place to go and introduce foreing friends to the peruvian cuisine one of the best in the world.09 Nov, 2009Great service, excellent taste. The peruvian food has so many different dishes, and all of them prepared with a lot of flavor, as well of Peruvian chinese food, sea food, or rices ( arroz con mariscos) wow, nothing to complain, good prices too. wish we have more restaurants like this , quality, service ,taste, and clean.
