Fabulous, FABULOUS food. Stuffed poblano chillies, mexican rice and beans – to die for. And do not miss the Jalapeno Margarita! I caught myself dreaming about the food here for days after.
Loved it!. I had been craving authentic Mexican food and boy did I find it. The food was amazing and the restaurant itself was so cozy and cute. I drove like 45 minutes and I do not regret it at all. I look forward to going back and trying all their dishes.
Great food – corn tortillas & beans to die for. Too bad service is so poor.
Good food, but inconsistant service.. The food is pretty good here, sadly the service lacks. On my last visit we sat for 15 minutes before we were asks if we wanted drinks- and we were the only ones there at 5:30 (no wonder). And no hostess ( or waiter) sat us, which was kinda weird- just take a seat.If you do go try the enchiladas, they have wonderful sauces!!!
Never had a bad time here. My most recent meal here was last night. I came in alone after 9:30 dressed in dirty work clothes. If there ever was a situation where one would get bad service, this was it. I like their food, so I figured why not. The wait staff didn’t blink, showed me to a table when it was clear all other tables were ready for a check, prepared me a delicious plate of carnitas and a cold beer, offered me a leisurely meal in which I read a book, no rush, no rudeness. All for $20. I am with the minority here: I don’t get the complaints. LA service is not world class by any means, but it’s always been better than average here. The food speaks for itself, never had anything bland or less than tasty. I can’t believe that the complainers here didn’t bring it on themselves in some way. The quickest route to a bad night is to alienate the people who are taking care of you. This is true anywhere, but especially a family run restaurant like this one. If you have that feeling, do everyone a favor and go elsewhere.
What’s with the Haters?. All right, I don’t know what bug crawled up someone’s butt about this place, but I’ve been going here for years and I’ve NEVER had bad service. And yes, I’ve gone in dressed like a slob occasionally. (Double standards my ass.) Sometimes it’s crowded and you have to wait.DEAL WITH IT.Otherwise, the food is amazing. The things they do with stuffed chiles will blow your mind. Almond cream sauce with pomegranates. Yow! I’ve taken a ton of folks there and they have all become fans. But don’t take my word for it. Go see for yourself. It’s worth the trip.Oh…. wait. I did just remember something bad about this place – the well margaritas are lame. You gotta get the Cadillac. Pobrecito!
