Really good. Service, A. Appetizers,A. Entrees, A. Fried calamari is so tender…The best I’ve ever had. Specials are good. Servers provide recommendations if asked. Try it.
The place was dead! Even though it was empty, they still got our order wrong! They didn’t even have a candle to put on my daughters birthday flan, which by the way tasted terrible.
Like it but…. This restaurant has an identity problem. It is not really Italian, not Greek, look farther north and east for it’s probable roots. They could be really good if they admitted this and focused on unique and/or unusual dishes of which they have a few. Unfortunately, their menu is dominated by the conventional fare meant to draw in a big crowd but which actually makes them an also ran when there is a killer Italian restaurant two blocks further down Honolulu.
Our Favorite!. I’m a vegetarian who at times finds it difficult to find a good restaurant that will create a great entre for me. Portabello’s has become our favorite, because I love roasted Portabello mushrooms on a bun that isn’t soggy with oil. I also love that they are soooo very willing to hold things and add things to make dishes to my liking! My husband almost always orders salmon, and loves it. Additionally, we appreciate the very friendly service and ambiance. We have been eating here for several years now and have always been very happy with our experience.
Laid-back Weeknight Dinner. Downtown Montrose offers somewhat laid-back atmosphere; that’s the reason I’d like to go there for dining once in awhile. We got some very delightful bread in Portobello’s; warm and soft, they went very nicely with olive oil and herbs. My Portobello Salad with Grilled Chicken was very entertaining, it came with plenty of garnish. I was a bit disappointed as portobello mushroom was chopped in small dices, while I was expecting large pieces. Grilled chicken was tender and flavorful, and the house dressing was light. My friend’s Portobello Ravioli looked good. Service was attentive, in terms of drinks and bread were refilled promptly. Waiters were very friendly.
Great place great food. I usually don’t write a review unless I am really upset, but this place earned my vote hands down! We need more places like this!22 May, 2009Loved it!!!. Went there on a Friday night with my girlfriend. Food was amazing, I saw alot of people I know there and was in shock that it was only my first time at this place. The musician was singing Italian classics with his guitar, food was indescribably perfect, and the atmosphere was like out of a classic Italian Mafia movie. Maybe I loved it so muchhh cuz the night ended good .
Terrrrribbbble. This place used to be good when they opened I went back recently it is Dead I will be scared to eat anything since no one goes there the food is terrible and ambiance is depressing. I am surprised they are still open I read some review of the place i woudnt be surprised if they are friends and family or they are people who dont know what good food is.
