Out of all of the pasty places around. Cousin jacks is the most authentic. And I never order anything but the beef.

LOVED THEM!. I just visited cousin Jack Pasties in Grass Valley CA, and i have to say they are the best i have tasted. I will return!!! I tasted a pasty called the beef pasty which contain meat, potatoes,onions, and spices, and loved it. The thing i found better about their pasties was their crispy crust! YUM YUM! Also dont forget to dry their pies! My husband had their apple pie with ice cream and loved it!!!
Onions!. If you don’t like uncooked onions, don’t eat here!I got the Jack sized beef pasty with a side of fries and was disappointed by both. Rather than being a beef pasty, it tasted like an onion pasty with some background potato flavor. I’m not saying there wasn’t a good quantity of beef in the pasty, but the onions weren’t sauteed to reduce their acidic taste and completely overwhelmed the flavor of the beef. The fries on the other hand were both overcooked and undercooked in the same basket and couldn’t give solace from the pasty.
