Go for Baguettes!. I can only rate this bakery for takeout, since I’ve never remained long enough to have a sit down dining experience. It is my favorite place to stop first thing in the morning for a loaf of bread before embarking on a day of wine tasting (yes, I’m a tourist). The bread is always perfect, with just the right texture and crumb. Healdsburg has had trendy bakeries come and go (pretty baked goods, high prices, no taste), but Costeaux’s has remained a simple, reliable fixture.
Disappointing service, good food. Although the restaurant was only half full (at 2 pm), and I counted 5 staff, we stood at the door unacknowledged for at least 5 minutes (there was one couple ahead of us). We were taken to a table, and provided a menu. Several minutes later, an unenthusiastic waiter took our order. For starters, we both had the French onion soup and for mains the garden panino and a Monte Cristo sandwich. The soup was flavorful, and the sandwiches were fresh and tasty. Fortunately the food made up for marked indifferent service.
DELICIOUS!!!. I love everything from Costeaux. Brunch, lunch, cakes, breads… I try to come home with a ciabatta loaf with each visit too! The cafe menu changes seasonally now – but their delicious French Onion Soup stays no matter the season. It’s perfect on a cold winter day. Plus, the Seppi family gives back to the community and supports the area food banks.
Bread is fantastic!. We have a bed & breakfast in Healdsburg and have served Costeaux’s sourdough for toast for almost 30 years! Why should we bake when they do such a fantastic job. In the last year or so they’ve added some really amazing breads. It’s one of my favorite places for lunch as well. Enjoy…
Costeaux provided the cake and breads for our wedding and did not dissapoint! Great quality all-around.
Waiter rude and unaccomidating. Walked up to table with major attitude. Imidiate turn off. Wish I had gone somewhere less touristy.
