We dropped in for a quick bite and shared some pasta and Michael’s pizza……try it…..it’s wonderful. The Staff were wonderful and very attentive to your needs. It’s a great place in Mission Hills and worth the drive.
A group of friends from work had been talking about getting brunch and we ended up choosing Brooklyn Girl.I looked over the menu before we got there and I knew I had to have the Chicken & Biscuits. The chicken was crispy, the biscuit fluffy and the gravy was delicious. I ordered a side of potatoes which was way too much, so if you go with the Chicken & Biscuits, you won’t need much else. The place was surprisingly quiet for a Sunday at noon, but it was perfect for our friends to catch up. Highly recommend Brooklyn Girl for brunch! instagram.com
Loud, Delicious and Fun. One of our favorite places in San Diego. The oysters are delicious – clearly flown in fresh from points east and north. Saag Panir and Vietnamese Meatballs are highly recommended – both highly flavored and well spiced. Their mixed drinks are quite nice too. The real Brooklyn Girl has lived all over the world, and the diverse menu shows it. Two thumbs up, way up!
Not that great. Very unhappy with the quality and service. Atmosphere is great but needs energy and happy employees.
I liked it!. Great vive and just a fun place. Food can be very good or mediocre, depending on what you order. Don’t miss the oyster sliders and the whole fish. The salads sound good but are nothing special. Good beer selection
Expectations too high?. Brooklyn Girl is a trendy, busy–you can hardly get a reservation on a Friday night–big-open-space kind of place that promises first-class food and wine and prices it accordingly. I confess I was disappointed. The food wasn’t bad, far from it–I enjoyed a very fresh butter lettuce salad garnished with bacon and an ample and tender lamb shank–but it wasn’t extraordinary. And the cabernet I ordered was simply not of the quality it should have been at $8 a glass. I didn’t finish it. Perhaps there were better wines by the bottle, but we weren’t ready to drink that much. So: good ideas, good atmosphere, decent food, but not the place to go if what you care about is fine cooking.
