I went for the Happy Hour here and had a good experience. The staff were friendly and helpful with the menu. We had a bottle of wine which was $10 off that night and 2 appies which we enjoyed.
Went here for lunch because my husband needed a burger and it was cheap. The put a knife in it burger was amazing. I got the MissLula, it was so so. The tots were fun and I love the garlic aioli. Appreciated the beer selection although alcohol was a bit pricey but service was spectacular. Definitely recommend it and we’ll return with friends.
Great Breakfast. On Saturday we went for breakfast off the weekend Brunch Menu and enjoyed. The menu is adventurous and imaginative. The Zen Mai Scramble was excellent, especially with the mushroom similar Japanese Fern. The Buena Vista Social Scramble also was excellent with the lime addition to the flavors.Toast, EH potatoes and Tater Tots met the grade.Service was excellent and attentive; plus co-owner Susie chatted us up to be sure we were happy and talk about the menu and any questions and input.Next to try, the Montana style pork. We’ll be back soon. .
Wonderful, american comfort with a twist. Our server was so good i wasnt sure if it were the best service of my life or he made love with my soul. Will be back.
Poor service, only 2 good things on menu. When this place first opened the food was good and the service staff and owners were very friendly. Now that more people are eating here you are lucky if when you are sat you are given a menu. My wife and I recently tried to eat here. We were sat, never given menus, and were not even acknowledged. Each of the owners walked by us at least 3 times each and never said anything, the guy who sat us walked by 5 times and every other server at least 4 times. It became so apparent we were being ignored that we made a game of counting every time a staff member walked by us. People who were sat after us were given menus, we were even sitting next to the kitchen enterence. I would assume that the fastest way to go out of business is to ignore people who live close to your restaurant, have gone at least every two weeks and take friends with them. And Empire House is on there way to losing regular customers. The food is not worth the poor service. The only things on the menu that are worth going in for are the grilled cheese and the tater tots. There are tons of restaurants in the Hillcrest/Mission Hills area that have better food and great service.
Ummmm not so much. Sorry guys mac and cheese was still frozen and waited 45 min for my food while others who came in after us ordered and got served the exact order while we still waited for our food… Nice staff but kitchen isnt managed correctly… Walked out but paid the appetizer bill and they tried to make us pay for the entire bill… Not good!
Great Burger. The Susie burger is awesome! It would be better if the salad had mixed greens instead of iceberg wedge, but the place is nice, service is friendly and the price is reasonable
