This ranks as the best breakfast I have ever had! Small place and packed which is usually a good sign. Only waited 15 mins and had I known how good it was going to be would have waited much longer. All dishes look amazing. I had the English popover with Briskett and my wife had French Toast. 5/5! This is a must stop for breakfast or brunch. I had to park 2 blocks away but well worth it.
We went during brunch and it was fine, but way too much hype. Definitely expect a long wait. That’s typical for any brunch spot in the area, so that’s totally okay. Service was on the slower side, but forgivable considering how busy they were and it was peak brunch hours. We got the Maple Bacon Doughnuts (obviously), House Smoked Beef Brisket English Popover, and Cerillos Chilaquiles. The donuts were really good and oozing with maple, but nothing anymore special than what you can get at a donut shop. Not a big fan of the hollandaise on the popover but the chilaquiles were better, just a bit different than what I’ve had. Looking around at other tables, the sweeter dishes looked way better (beignets, french toast) and I wish we got those instead of donuts. I’d go again to try the dinner menu, but for brunch I’ve got other favorite spots I’d rather go to.
Great breakfast and lunch spot! The portions are huge and the staff are always friendly. We make it a point to stop here every time we are in San Diego.
The great Maple is located in a somewhat hidden corner of Washington St. Nestled in the outskirts of Hillcrest, The Great Maple has its own parking lot making it easier for people to access the restaurant. We walked a couple of steps to get to the restaurant.Making it super accessible for anyone! As soon as we walked in, a nice young lady greeted us. I had a friend waiting for us inside of the restaurant, so we went and sat with her. One thing I highly disliked about the venue was that the seats were very close together. Being that we had 3 kids with us made it a little difficult not having wiggle room. When we sat down our server took our drink order and then we proceeded to order our food. The menu was big and it seemed like it had a lot of things. This made it very difficult to finds something to order After much deliberate pondering I decided to try the Portobello Mushroom Fries. This included 2 over easy eggs, Pee Wee Potatoes, fruit, bread and a delicious pesto aioli for only 16.00 ! The Kids Menu was well worth the money. Although my son didnt eat his food, the portions were great for 6 dollars. (This also came with a coloring sheet and crayons ) Food came to us on time and we had no issues with service. We did notice the servers somewhat running around frantically, but it wasnt something too bothersome. Overal, we really enjoyed the place and we really want to come back. Below will be pictures of the dcor and the awesome food we a ate! adventuresoftiffandollie.com
Opens at 8 am. Breakfast awesome. IPA on draft. Opens at 8am.
I dislike. I hate everything about this restaurant. The service is terrible, the food is so mediocre, and it all stinks of some chain, even though there isn’t one to tie it to. It is just abhorrent.
Great food and service! Must have the maple bacon doughnuts and the popovers. The Bloody Mary’s were amazing.
