Ok! Anyone saying this place was bad must be out of their mind lol! This was seriously the best fresh, hot and authentic Chinese food I have ever had! The cheese wontons were so fresh and hot! We also ordered the Chicken lo mein and the Hong Kong soup. My husband and I shared and I swear we were elbowing trying to eat both at the same time. And what topped off this amazing experience was the very friendly and very sweet owners. They were very nice to everyone that came in! I highly recommend then and we DEFINITELY WILL BE BACK!

Classic.. This place looks like its straight out of the late 70s early 80s. The menu is full of classic american stile Chinese dishes. I have eaten here a total for 3 times, each time I have found the food and the service to be very satisfying. The price is good too.

Oh dear….. I had previously really enjoyed eating here. Last time the poo poo platter wasn’t up to scratch and tonight….. Well let’s just say if you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the toilet better to have that area nice and clean rather than stacked with dirty dishes and fairly smelly. I think I will Need to be desperate to go back again. So sad.13 Sep, 2009Awesome! What a happy surprise to find this honest little non pretentious hole in the wall place. No MSG, no fancy frilly and no BS just good CLEAN quick service and good food. Great staff too. Would recomending to anyone and be going back soon and often.

HONGKONG. This restaurant has the old flair of a forgotten past. Like some 1970’s San Fransisco crime drama. As I eat mymongolian beef at 1am, I could just see clint Eastwoodor steve Mcqueen walking through the door. I miss the cheesey old booths though. I’ve met the owner. He owns Lucky Star, out near 70th. However I still like Hongkong more. I enjoy its semi rude and impatient staff. It gives a realism about the atmosphere. well, i gotta go. enjoy!

Excellent!. It may seem like a little hole in the wall amongst all the glitsy restaurants in Hillcrest… but the wonderful ladies at Hong Kong serve some of the most delicious Americanized Chinese food I have ever had. It makes me want to know what they cook for themselves and then hope to be invited for dinner. A great dinner out with my husband.

I love this place…. This place is classic in the minimalist, throw-back, 1960’s Chinese restaurant sense, and the food more than holds it’s own. It’s cheap too. For the money I don’t think you can get better Chinese. Furthermore, they don’t use MSG and all around it’s quite healthy. I don’t know why this place isn’t packed all the time. I think it’s even open until 2:30am. By the way…not the place I would take the family, but definitely a place for a couple or friends not trying to get fancy.
