The appetizers at Trust are very tasty, we had squid balls that were deep fried and had a tissue thin garnish of pancetta that was so thin it looked like it was moving in the breeze. Very original and tasty drinks at the bar, with a bartender that really knows his craft. For dinner I had scallop risotto with a cherry demi glace, others had a beef tartare salad, sausage rigatoni, and a shrimp plate (I forget the details on that one). All were very good, the portions are not large but just enough for a light meal, or order more and share them as small plates. Lovely outdoor patio, or an interesting industrial look interior, good service and semi casual attire.
Trust is a pretty unequivocal concept. You either have it or you dont. Naming your restaurant Trust Restaurant San Diego is pretty unequivocal as well, begging the question as to whether the owner and chef are bold and confident or just plain reckless. If the name is meant as a promise, its a huge one to keep the slightest slip up and all Trust may be lost. If its a request, then hoping for the best would most certainly have to be anchored by serving the best. You want me to Trust you? Lets see whats going on here
