Carne asada burrito. Carne Asada Burrito – This was an average burrito. Oddly enough, it was not wrapped in your typical peel and eat manner. The meat had a pretty decent taste. There was some sauce, some guacamole, some rice, etc… It was a good burrito but nothing that would make it stand out from your average hole in the wall burrito place in San Francisco’s Mission District.07 Jan, 2012Tacos (Chicken) – Benito’s Taco Shop – Los Angeles. Chicken Tacos – These were crispy tacos. I was a bit surprised but I actually didn’t mind. There was a disproportionate amount of lettuce on the taco. The shell had been cooked a little longer than I would have preferred. The shredded chicken was dry. But, by dousing it in the hot sauce, it was a decent taco.02 Jun, 2011Middle of the Road Taco Shop. I’m in Los Angeles for business. I figured I wouldn’t do any research and I would see what I could find by walking down the street. Who says no one walks in LA. I was hoping I could find a place to get a LA burrito. After a relatively short walk, I lucked out and ran into Benito’s Taco Shop. I wandered in. After checking out their menu and asking a question or two, I decided on their carne asada burrito and two tacos with chicken.Food:Carne Asada Burrito – This was an average burrito. I will say it was cleaner and neater than many.Service – This was also basic. It was more professional and succinct than friendly. The food was prepared pretty quickly. The restaurant was not very busy. So, I do not know what the speed of service is during rush periods.Overall – There are a lot of taco shops in the world that are worse than Benito’s and there are a number that are better. Considering LA’s strong rep as a haven for great Mexican food, I am actually surprised by its relatively high marks.
