Saffron Grill is a lovely place full of deliciousness. The Chicken Koobideh is a MUST-TRY. It is mouthwatering. Seasoned to perfection and tastes so juicy when you bite it. WARNING: If you have never been here, walk away while you can because once you try it you will keep coming back for more! The Shishkabob and the Lamb shank are delicious too! Those are my favorite. I recommend!
Consistently Yummmm!. This is the best Persian food I have had–even after two years living in Tehran. The rice is fragrant and light, the gourmet sabzi rich and with layers of taste, the meat is fresh, and the experimental dishes wonderful. I come here every time I am in the southland and am jealous when my boyfriend tells me he gets to eat here without me. My standard fare is the beef khoobideh. He likes the ab alu polo. The OC Weekly is way off base—this is reasonably-priced food. I always have a bill 25-40% lower than other restaurants, and am always happy with the food–AND have leftovers.
Food is excellent. don’t forget the pistachio ice cream.
I’ve been going to this restaurant for over 4 years and enjoy it every time. The menu has a wide variety of Persian dishes(I’ve tried most of them) and everything has a fresh home cooked taste.I’ve brought many friends & family here and would recommend to anyone.
Good food but a little too pricey. I really liked the food here. Chicken and gyros are great. But at $50 for 2 people (dinner) it’s a little on the pricey side. I won’t come here again for dinner, but the lunch menu is more reasonable.
Gourmet secret. This restaurant is amazing! The menu has a great variety of dishes, all of which are gourmet quality. They use fresh ingredients, subtle and wonderful spices, and the service is prompt and efficient.I have several favorite dishes. One is the Gheimeh Bademjon that is a tomato, split pea, and eggplant stew. Another is the Ghormeh Sabzi–which is a little bit like an Indian saag dish only it has subtler spices, lemon, beans, and chunks of beef. Then again, I can’t seem to get enough of the Beef Koobideh–it’s ground beef mixed with spices and cooked on a skewer over a fire. All are served with rice that is light, fluffy, and to die for.
