Thai Princess is highly overrated!Sure, the menu selections are many, but the food is very hit-and-miss and the service is borderline horrendous, definitely beyond slow and exceptionally impersonal. Visited here last weekend for dinner and the restaurant was 2/3 empty when we arrived, but it still took forever to get seated (we just stood in the doorway while the employees scuttled past us like we weren’t there). Then it took another 30 minutes and walking up to the counter twice to get someone to come take our order. It was difficult not to get up and leave, but my wife and I were hungry and didn’t feel like scouting out another place to eat.Once we ordered, the curries came out unusually fast. Seriously, McDonald’s would be jealous! However, it was instantly apparent they were using pre-made, very watered-down curries and simply adding pre-boiled vegetables upon order. This left the curry dishes a mushy, non-cohesive, overcooked mess, despite arriving at our table just minutes after we ordered. The best dish we tried here was the Pad-See-Ew, which was legitimate and tasted very good. For fun, we tried it with tofu and they did a good job getting a nice pan-seared texture to it. Of course, since the noodle dish had to be cooked-to-order, unlike the curries, it arrived quite a bit after the other dishes. Clearly, if you want the best this place has to offer, stick to the pan-fried dishes or soups and avoid the curries (such a shame!).All in all, Thai Princess is mediocre at best. That’s assuming you can survive the lack of service and actually make it to the food. This certainly isn’t somewhere I plan on revisiting when I’m back in town and I don’t recommend it to anyone. There are many other Thai places in the area and it has been my experience that most of them provide better quality food and, most of all, service.
