Good Food, Bad Value and Service. This place seems to get pretty good reviews so we thought to give it a shot. I love tapas bars, and although the food was tasty, the portion sizes were very small for the price they charge. The service was also extremely slow – it took us an hour to get our food. Then, we were charged an automatic 20 percent gratuity even though the service was bad.Overall, the food was good but I wouldn’t recommend it.
Great Wine Bar Near USC. Bacaro has a splendid selection of wines by the glass, educated, friendly waitstaff capable of making recommendations, and a nice array of cheeses. Small hot plates are hit or miss–my flank steak was slightly overcooked and oversalted, but my companions’ small plates were wonderful. The ambiance is welcoming, clean and quaint with a chalkboard wall that displays the daily selection. Great place to have wine and cheese and a good date spot.
