Never come Here!. Quality-horribleThe food did not seem fresh and we ordered one of the most expensive buckets. It was over seasoned & too spicy for mildService-even worse, we arrivived with maybe 2 parties of 4 & 2 in front of us and I put my name on the list & sat down next to my family when a young gentlemen came in with 2 children and a young Asian women not with long hair but was a waitress and hostess( I guess they just work both positions there but they kept leaving the podium empty) seated and helped him right away. She took his drink order as she served him and kept waiting on him completely ignoring to sit us or take anyone else name who came in properly. As we were finally seated she did not ask greet us at all after showing us to our table without asking what we would like to drink and then continued to come back in a hurry and ask if we knew what we wanted to order before even giving us menus They kept rushing us to order about 3 x before we finally got their disgusting food. I’d rather stick with joes crab shack or another favorite sea food destination.
Do not go. I am going to give my first restaurant review to this place. I am a crawfish lover and here in San Diego I have only got one choice unless I want to drive 3 hours round trip to BoilingCrab, Thank God boilingcrab is opening in San Diego this summer, by the way. Crabhut was okay before, but apparently going downhills in the last year. This is not the right way to say thank you to the people who make their business grow. Here is my experience for several times. 1. The crawfish are quite small and dirty. Some are covered with a layer of tough black substance around the belly area and others appear to have parasite eggs stuff around the tip of the heads. It makes me worry how much of that I have consumed. The clam has a lot sand in it other than being small. The shrimp is okay, probably the best bet if you have to eat there. 2. I ordered $10.99 live crawfish but got about half frozen ones, a couple of them also stunk after I opened them up which usually means they had been dead for a while and should be tossed. This is to my bottom line of restaurants. 3. The sauce is very thin with a lot of mud like stuff on the bottom. The corn and sausage is not as good as BoilingCrab, just what you can buy yourself in the grocery stores. But they are not bad. So my advice is that do not go to this place for your health and taste buds. They are also more expensive, why pay more to get bad food?
