The new room:. 3 of us ate in the new room yesterday. The food was great. The server was great. The room itself is hard and harsh. Hard walls, floor, ceiling and furniture. Really uncomfortable acoustics. It felt too noisy and too crowded. The carpet and booths in the old room are far more enjoyable.
The only bad thing I have to say about this place is that they’re not open for Dinner! 🙁 I absolutely love this place! Not a bad item on the menu!
Came here for breakfast and the food was good.
Way over-rated. Were my expectations too high? Was it the end of the life cycle of their cooking oil?Was it time to give the griddle top a thorough cleaning?Sunday morning, 8:30 AM several people waiting to be seated so we opted to take seats at the counter which turned out to be a mistake. Our server apparently had establishment-wide responsibilities, with cursory attention to our section of the counter. The order of ham and eggs was more than ample in terms of the hash browns and the ham; as for the eggs they must have come from a pygmy chicken. Both the potatoes and the ham had an off taste, which I would assume was caused by the oil in which they were heated. The potatoes were dark brown, almost black on the outside and cold and hard on the inside. The wheat toast matched the egg size and was pre-slathered with oil or margarine, which caused the toast to be limp. Perhaps I was marked a tourist, not likely to be back and, therefore wasn’t worthy of good food or service. If that’s the case it was accurate – I’ll not be back.
Eat All Day. This restaurant gives you so much food that you can use your meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I ordered the chicken fried steak and it had a crispy batter with a juicy center. It was slightly overcooked but it tasted so good that I looked right past it. The hash-browns were slightly on the greasy side but I pour gravy on them anyway so I did not notice it while eating. Definitely worth a try.
Good breakfast and lunch. Friendly staff. The chicken fried chicken is worth a try.
Everything about this little dinner gives off a welcoming vibe. From the friendly employees to the building itself resembling a house, it’s no coincidence that this place attracts regular customers to the point that the emplyees know almost every customer by name. And it doesn’t hurt that you get great quality food at a good price and good portions. I myself would recomend the chicken fried steak breakfast which on only a few occations have I been able to finish it all.
