Service is terrible!! They really need a manager that is capable of doing more than just gossiping, while ignoring the customers. The place is pretty out dated and run-down too.

Disappointed. I love German food, so I came here with high expectations and ended up disappointed. I ordered my favorite, spaetzle with cheese,as an appetizer. This came out greasy, with little flavor. Where was the white pepper? I tried the sauerbraten for my entree. It was better that my appetizer and served with red cabbage and potato dumplings. The beef had good flavor and melded nicely with the cabbage. The potato dumplings were interesting, but not my cup of tea. For food quality I give them 3/5.The issue with my meal is that between the appetizer and entree my waitress vanished for 40 minutes. At the time I found it funny and took notice about half way through her disappearance and started to keep track of the time. She returned without an excuse for her absence and told me that they gave my meal to someone else and that a new ticket was in the window. I think the more likely scenario is that it sat in the window for half an hour. For service I give Alpine Village 1/5. The other waitress working tables near time seemed attentive and friendly. If my waitress was not supposed to be working that section, why not seat me somewhere else?I am down here fairly regularly, and I will try many difference restaurants before I decide to give Alpine Village another chance.

German Specialities Await. A short business trip tot eh LA Area brought us here for lunch. Having visited once before back int eh 80’s it certainly brings back a lot of memories of German villages when I lived in Switzerland. Plenty of German beer choices and of course American also. The menu is all my favorites. I went with the sourbraten with red cabbage and mashed potatoes. The braten was tender, and no need for a knife. choice of coup or salad, I went with the salad. Bread was provided with butter and wiped liverwurst. If you have never had liverwurst, this is a real treat. Afterwards, we walked through the grocery store, which had so much German, Austrian, and Swiss goodies, I was kid in a candy store. Fresh baked breads, and sweet treats, lunch meat, brats, chocolate galore.
