Historical ‘Landmark’ Restaurant. JP is one of those places that you will always remember and be associated with an event or night to remember. My best friend, my cousins and myself would always frequent JP on our way home from the club at 3:00/4:00 in the morning. I went there so much that they knew me and my order:doubled dipped with extra chili, cheese, pickles and peppers. I absolutely LOVED their pastrami sandwich. It was nothing for me to wait in the long line for close to 45 minutes to order and spend $20 just for the sandwich alone. It sounds crazy, but the sandwich was enough to fill me and my two pre-teen children. So it was well worth it. While away in the military from 2004 – 2012, I could never find a pastrami that was even close to JP’s. So, when I returned to L.A. in 2012, I had my cousin pick me up from the airport with ‘my sandwich’!I hope that unlike some of the other historical landmarks, i.e. World on Wheels, that JP remains standing and in business.

Many decades in business. I left L.A. twenty years ago, but I still remember Johnny’s on Adams. Twenty-four hours a day, there was always lots of people around Johnny’s. I arrived in L.A. in 1965 and left in 1993, however Johnny’s had been in business long before 1965.

The Choice.Bad Service where they attempt to memorize your order which leads to error instead of writing it down.Watch your food if u upset the staff or if you don’t leave a tip they will slam the screen down and not say thank u!Yes,a tip jar @ a fast-food restaurant???Now the dipped pastrami is the best L.A. has to offer. The choice is yours.

Great food, slow service. I love the food, but the service is terrible! If you want a good sandwich and you’re willing to wait 15-20 minutes, then this is still a good place.

My favorite pastrami spot period. It’s off Crenshaw and Adams, so the neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but I’ve been coming here for years and haven’t had a problem yet. I’m 5’10 250 and I can’t finish a sandwhich and fries, I always have half of a sandwhich left over, even when I have the munchies. They’re open 24/7 so don’t be surprised/alarmed if you meet some interesting people while you’re in line/ waiting on your order. It’s cash only and fairly priced, you can make two of the Hat’s pastrami dips with one from Johnny’s. Oh and be prepared to get your food and go or eat in your car because there’s no seating at all. Bottomline: Johnny’s Pastrami is the BIZNIZ 2 thumbs and a big toe
