Came to check out this bar for Happy Hour and I’m glad I did because this will easily become a hangout spot for me and my friends.Located in the Arts District of LA, you’ll arrive to a very large orange door with a dim lit setting behind it which includes a full bar and table seating. Me and a friend decided to sit on the outside patio rather than inside. The patio reminds me of a BBQ gathering in someones backyard with wooden bench tables, string lighting, heat lamps, a bocce ball area, the works. Very chill and relaxing. Complimentary chips and salsa was brought by the waitress while decisions were made for food and drinks. After going over both the regular and Happy Hour menu, orders were placed and had arrived shortly after. No long wait times.I couldn’t resist ordering a prickly pear margarita since almost everyone had one at there tables. I figured it had to be good and I was right. Good lime and pear flavor with just the right amount of tequila. The Santee Alley was also ordered. This was a bit more on the stronger side and is meant to sip slowly in my opinion. Reminded me of a good Old Fashioned. Both great cocktails on the Happy Hour menu for $7.For bites the single burger with fries was ordered from the happy hour menu while the BBQ chicken thighs were ordered from the regular menu. The single burger itself is $10 on the regular menu so you might as well get the burger and fries for $10 during happy hour. The burger was simple but very tasty. Good sauce and cheddar in addition to the flavor of the meat. The fries were downright delicious. I should have ordered more; needed no ketchup at all. For the thighs they were boneless, juicy and well seasoned. The aji panca sauce that surrounded them was already flavorful but was even better when squeezing the lime juice into it.I’ve never played bocce ball before and figured no need to start on this visit. I’m going to save that for when I go back with a bigger group. This visit was on a Wednesday aka: Wine Wednesday where you can get a flight of three wines for $25. I’m not a wine drinker but I know many who are so that’ll be cool for them. Also for any Pokmon Go players, there’s a Gym in the bar so that’s a plus LOL.This was an awesome happy hour and I’m looking forward to visiting on a weekend night. Can’t beat great food and more importantly, great drinks.Dinner 9/14/2016
