Another satisfying lunch from Ragin Cajun.I’m a fan multiple items on there menu. I usually go for the gumbolaya but went for the chicken and sausage corn bisque bowl instead. This bisque is creamy, has a small kick and has chunks of chicken & sausages all throughout sitting on top of white rice. I love the flavor and if you’re not too sure whether or not to order it…small samples of the bisque is given by Stephen at the truck. The truck doesn’t have the full menu like the restaurant but that’s expected. Their major hits are on the menu and all of which I enjoy. Always a good meal from the friendly staff.Visit Date 5/7/2016

Great Food Truck Race Season 1 Contestant. On May 27, 2013, Ragin Cajun on Wheels happened to be in downtown Riverside, CA as 1 of 3 Food Trucks supporting a poorly organized event by the Inland Empire Record Collective (vinyl records club?). In spite of the oppressive heat that day, I stopped to give their Gumbolaya a try. The small serving was decent, but I do not think that I would go out of my way for this one.

A bit on the high $ end, but still pretty good. RCOW has been kind enough to form a presence in Orange County lately and perhaps it is the high price of gas that makes their prices what they are. I’m not sure, but while I had been wanting to try this truck and did….I found it to be a little on the high side. As an example: a full sandwich on a normal size Hoagie was $10 and Hush Puppies which were a fairly generous portion were $5 (for bread!)I had their 1/2 Order of a Fried Catfish Po’ Boy, but despite the freshness and varying flavors and textures within the sammie it was a little difficult to enjoy as much knowing their pricing. On this visit despite an early arrival they were all out of their beef/gravy options.
