Just get the tuna avocado bowl and fried shrimp shumais. That’s all you need. Those are the only two things I get. I haven’t really tried anything else on the menu, but they have the standard Japanese dishes. Udon, teriyaki, tempura, etc. They even have a few sushi rolls. However, the tuna avocado bowl is amazing. Chunks of sushi grade tuna and avocado on a bed of lettuce and sushi rice with wasabi aioli. I think it’s only served during their lunch hours. The fried shumais are also amazing. Crispy, shrimpy, bite-size, goodness. It’s a great place lunch, affordable too!
Exceedingly average Japanese….. Small and homey joint but i found the food to be bleh. nothing good nor phenomenal……just palatable. dropped by this weekend to grab lunch and tried to go to daikokuya but the wait was much too long so we decided on TOT. we were greeted warmly when we walked in and were invited to sit at any table. as we perused the menu, my first thought was…..goodness gracious, there are a lot of choices on the menu!! due to the overwhelming number of items on the menu, we had to wave off the waitress a few times to get through the sucka. the food: – unagi don w/ udon: this was a lot of food. the combo consisted of broiled unagi sitting on top of a bed of rice with a big bowl of udon on the side. my dining companion finshed the udon and took the unagi home. then again she is not a big eater.- spicy salmon don w/ udon: this was also a lot of food. the spicy salmon was not spicy at all (granted the waitress did warn me that the dish was not spicy) and was basically cooked salmon that was shredded and mixed with a lil mayo. the dish was fairly bland but the addition of the tangy/spicy sauce that was served on the side helped in the flavor department. the udon was cooked well but the broth was underwhelming. too much soy taste and not much else. service was very good with our waters and tea refilled constantly. would i go back? probably not. the food was ok, but in terms of other offerings in jtown……this place is bleh. park in the japanese village plaza parking structure as TOT validates for two hours.
