I was in the mood for dimsum and with a plethora of options in Chinatown, somehow I ended up here. It’s a cheap find where you can stuff your face without spending a lot of money. I agree with the other reviews about being dirty. It’s not exactly the cleanest place in town. The menu alone looks and feels like a breeding ground for all kinds of germs. The place looks pretty run down and unkept. The food is alright for what you pay. I left feeling stuffed. I was starving when I came in and was ready to chow down. I was searching for dim sum places that had the carts, but I guess it was the prices here that had lured me over. I got the items in a take out box over at the counter in front, then ordered a pork/clam hot pot at the table. It does a belly good if you are looking for something cheap and filling. behgopa.com

Cheap Dim Sum To Go. Won Kok is primarily a Dim Sum takeout place. The dim sum menu is a little smaller than for Dim Sum Express in Monterey Park, but it’s cheaper. It opens at 8am, so it’s great for picking up large orders on the weekends before downtown traffic sets in, and it’s not as far to Chinatown from the Westside as it is to the San Gabriel Valley. I go there primarily for the fifty-cent (or thereabouts) ha gao and shu mai, but the other items are also good.If dim sum is just way too early for you, they’re open until 3am. If you’re out past 1am in Chinatown, and Phoenix Inn is closed, Won Kok is only a block away.
