This busy establishment is run by Greg Lewis, his wife and three sons and if they werent busy enough they have plans to add a distillery to their portfolio. When the children were young, Mr. Lewis would entertain them by making up stories about the foxes on their property including a dancing one so thats where the name comes from. Youll find plenty of large salads on the menu including a Greek Salad, a Cranberry Walnut Salad, and our personal favorite: the Mandarin Almond Salad with Poppy Seed Vinaigrette. The wood fire pizza oven (from Barcelona) is constantly busy turning out restaurant specials or whatever custom assembly you design to top your own pie. Worst customer service. We came on Thursday, 7/25/2013 early afternoon for wine tasting and were told that the wine tasting service is only open in the evening, however, since Thursday has the Farmers Market they would be very busy. So, we were considerate and made wine tasting and dinner reservation for the next day (Friday, 7/26/2013). After arrival 15 minutes prior to our dinner reservation we were told at that time, that the wine tasting service is only in the afternoon contrary what we were told the previous day. I mentioned that we had reservation, but our request was ignored. The restaurant is nicely decorated, however, very disorganized and the service is terrible. The sad thing is that the place had only 4 tables occupied that were handled by two male servers. We are from Las Vegas and I have to admit, that this was the worst service I have ever received. Sorry, but I would never suggest anybody to visit this place for wine tasting.
What Went Wrong. I ordered the Margherita pizza that I had there before and it was delicious! But not on 10/19! The pizza was mushy, with too much sauce and did not have fresh mozzarella that was on it before. Don’t know who cooked that night…..but I’m going back to Ricks!
The food is very bland and was not done well. I ordered a pizza and some pieces had to much basil while others had none. The wine tasting was awkward. The gentleman pouring was pleasant but seemed to be personally offended when we chose not to purchase any of their mediocre wines. The atmosphere however is quaint and comfortable… By far the best part of the experience.
Spectacular! The food was some of the best I have ever tasted, the whole bakery/winery is decorated beautifully. My only regret is that I live to far away from incredible eatery.
A place you will enjoy. Excellent food, Sunday brunch to die for. Winery on site. Great place to relax and unwind after a long day.
