We just moved bear this place and saw it driving by. It doesnt look like much outside or in, but I go out to eat not judge appearances and the food is what matters. Things started off a little bumpy as the salad was wilted and soaking in a puddle of water/ dressing. After that though it got great. I had the chicken parm which was really excellent served up next to some linguini in a marinara sauce. My companion had the linguini with garlic and shrimp and it was also really good. Big chuncks of perfectly roasted garlic in the sauce and nice bug shrimp. I will defInitely hit this place up again next time the Italian urge hits.

Inexpensive Casual Italian. This moderately priced Italian & pizza establishment is great for casual dining. It’s not a place that you need to get all gussied up for, or that you need to be afraid of bringing the kids to… The food is good to above average in large, but not ridiculously sized portions. The atmosphere of Avolio’s is perhaps a bit downtrodden so it’s probably not a place you would take anyone you want to impress but if it’s moderately priced ($8-$9 a person) Italian food you want you could do a lot worse than Avolio’s.
Avolio’s is great. I’ve been going to Avolio’s over 16 years. This is a little family owned and operated restaurant in Covina, and there is always a family member working there. The pizza is very good, crust always chewy and crispy at the same time, generous toppings, good quality ingredients. The entrees are good: my favorites are the clam linguini and the eggplant parmigiana, but I’ve eaten just about everything on the menu, and the only thing I haven’t liked much is the gnocci (although one of my out-of-town guests ALWAYS orders it). Local cops eat here, softball teams, families with kids, older folks, kids on dates… everyone can find a reason to come here. Excellent food, fair prices, good service, locally owned. Maybe I’ll go tomorrow (already have plans for tonight)!
Best Italian in Town. I’ve been going to this place for almost 20 years. The pizza has always been amazing and their cheese ravioli and garlic and oil pasta are to die for. There isn’t one thing on the menu I don’t like.
