Before we started our sightseeing on Monday, we headed to Millbrae Pancake House for breakfast, since it was only a mile or two from our hotel. The restaurant was moderately busy, but we did not have to wait to get a table. The decor was probably very nice in the 1970’s, but seems quite dated. Perhaps that is part of the charm of the place? We ordered a couple of combo breakfasts. For SWMBO, scrambled, bacon, biscuits and gravy (something new for us). The gravy didn’t have much flavour. For me, scrambled, sausage, and pancakes. All of the food was competently done, but many places do this type of food well. One service issue: They served SWMBO her orange juice in a dirty glass.
Visited On : 21-11-2015Went here on a Saturday, had to wait for about 20 minutes to get a table. We were seven of us.The chocolate pancake was super tasty. The strawberry waffle was good but strawberries were sour :P.The hand dipped chocolate milkshake and Hot chocolate was heavenly. The house was full, lively with great energy and service.Must try.For all that we ordered, we paid $150 excluding gratuity.

Breakfast in San Francisco before heading home. Had an awesome breakfast, service was friendly and fast! Portions are big shared California omelet with Swedish pancakes and hashbrowns with my sister. The hash browns were good up to Idaho standards!
I have a few issues with this place. Chiefly among them is that on a busy Saturday morning, they had a shy 10 year old handling the wait list. I mean, bless her heart for working and learning a work ethic. It took me two large parties before I realized that the line I was in wasn’t a line, and I had to talk to her to get on the list. So, diner beware. Second, their pancakes are the same as everyone else’s. Same texture, same flavor. That said, service was good, even during a World Cup match, and the French toast batter was tasty.
The Swedish pancakes are soooo good. I love crepes, but I wasn’t sure if I was in the mood for crepes. Got them on the waitresses recommendation, and I’m so glad I did. AMAZING! Too bad I live in San Diego and can’t come eat Swedish pancakes all the time.
This is the best breakfast place in the bay area. The food is at a good price. The sercvice is quick, and the work staff is very helpful. The french toast is to die for, and the pancakes are by far the best I’ve ever had.. If you’re ever anywhere in the san francisco bay area its worth the drive!! Go to milbrae pancake house
