Nooooooo! It’s GONE!. Sadly, it seems that this lovely little coffee spot has closed! I went there on Monday, 3/10/14, to get my mocha fix, and it had disappeared! No note on the door or anything to say why it had gone, but I suspect it just didn’t get enough traffic in to keep it going. A damn shame, really, since both the coffee and service were excellent.
My name is Justin Christensen and Empire coffee in my opinion offered a personal experience untouched by your local robotic corporate coffee competitors. It’s nice to be a person, and not just a name written on a cup!! The coffee is top notch only surpassed by the customer service and attention your given by the family like staff. If you need a pick me up, or an awesome sandwich, bagel, or just want to chill and surf the Internet while enjoying in my opinion San Diego’s most personable, tasty cup of joe, Empire is your Coffee shop.
